NYC Ticket Odds

Privacy Policy

What we collect. Ticket numbers or license plates you enter in the free lookup are sent to the public NYC Open Data API to retrieve your ticket; we do not keep a log of lookup queries. If you join the waitlist, we store your email address and, if provided, your ticket number and violation type. If you purchase a draft, we store the ticket details and the answers you type into the drafting questionnaire (which may include personal facts you choose to share) so we can generate your statement, investigate quality issues, and process refunds. Photos you upload for AI recognition (tickets, receipts, ParkNYC screenshots) are processed in memory for immediate recognition only and are never stored; only the text you confirm is kept as part of your drafting answers. Payment details (card number, billing address) are collected by our payment provider, Paddle, acting as merchant of record — we never see them. If you report a hearing outcome, we store the result and any comment you submit. If you set up a Plate Watch, we store your email address and the license plate and state you enter, plus a log of the alert emails we send, until you unsubscribe.

Analytics & rate limiting. We record first-party usage events (page name, button clicks, browser user-agent and referring page) without cookies and without third-party trackers. To rate-limit abuse, we keep short-lived, hashed identifiers derived from IP addresses and email addresses in our edge key-value store; they expire automatically within about a day and are never written to our analytics logs. When you open checkout, Paddle (our payment provider) loads its own scripts and may set cookies needed to process payment and prevent fraud; see Paddle’s privacy policy.

Public data. Ticket records shown on this site come from the City of New York’s public dataset “Open Parking and Camera Violations”, which is published by the city and available to anyone.

Sharing & subprocessors. We do not sell personal information. We share data only with the service providers that operate this site: third-party AI (large language model) providers, which process the ticket details, questionnaire answers, and images you submit in order to generate your statement and perform photo recognition; Resend, which delivers our confirmation, reminder, and Plate Watch alert emails and therefore receives your email address and message content; Paddle, our payment provider and merchant of record; and Cloudflare, which hosts our infrastructure. We may also disclose information when required by law.

Retention. Waitlist emails are kept until the launch notification is sent or you ask us to delete them; a scheduled cleanup job deletes waitlist records, drafting answers, and outcome reports after 24 months. Plate Watch subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe; subscriptions that are never confirmed are deleted after 48 hours. Anonymous usage events contain no directly identifying information and are kept for product analytics.

Security & your rights. We store data on access-controlled servers and restrict access to it. To access or delete anything we hold about you, email hello@zalize.com and we will act within 30 days. We do not sell personal information, and we do not meet the thresholds that make the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) applicable; New York residents are protected by our practices above and the New York SHIELD Act.
